Hirer Feedback

Don't take my word for it.  This is what matters most!

"Fantastic bass, superb condition for the age, it has a great variety of tones, I will hire it again. Perfect handover, thank you Iain."

Thanks to Paola for her second hire of the weekend, adding bass tracks to the Fender Jazzmaster with the 1982 Fender Precision. Looking forward to hearing the results!

"Very friendly and understanding. Highly recommended."

Richardson needed a wah pedal, set to the sweet spot, for a gig under his stage name, Jeffery Churchill. He chose the classic Dunlop Cry Baby Wah. It did exactly what it says on the tin ;-).

"Awesome guitar in great condition! Easy collection and return, really nice meeting Iain, friendly, punctual and professional. Highly recommended :)"

That 62 Reissue Jazzmaster, that tremolo. Just the tone and sound that Paola needed for a weekend of home recording. One of two hires for her sessions - looking forward to hearing the results!

"We recently needed an acoustic guitar with Nashville tuning for a recording session and decided to rent one from Iain. The guitar was top-notch, sounded amazing, and we were especially grateful for the Nashville tuning, which we requested and for a small extra fee, he was kind enough to provide. The rental process was a breeze, and Iain was super helpful as always. If you're ever in need of a guitar, you are in the right place."

Many thanks to Eduardo for the studio hire - four guitars for a 3-day session. Including a first for me - a restring and set-up for Nashville tuning (with the bottom E, A, D & G strings replaced by the higher octave strings from a 12-string). I'd always been intrigued by Keith Richards and Johnny Marr using the odd Nashville tuning, so great to be able to put it into practice. The 1988 Martin D-35 sounds amazing!. It will be staying with that set-up for a while ;-).

"Lovely guitar. Perfect for the folk piece I played for my grandmother's memorial service. Pick-up worked well with the amp I was using. Thanks Iain for the excellent service."

Many thanks to Jackie for putting their trust in the Yamaha LA-8 for their grandmother's memorial service - a very special moment.

"She's a beauty, and Iain was so helpful even weeks in advance helping pick out the right guitar for the job! Thanks!"

And the second of two guitars for Homade NYC's four-night run of dates in London in August. This one for Maya Beth, who chose the 62 Reissue Jaguar as a short-scale alternative to the Mustang she usually plays in the States. Loved it - or her, as Maya far more affectionately puts it!

"Iain was very helpful in the process of deciding on a guitar to rent and picking up/dropping off the guitar as well! I really loved the Toronado, she was in great condition and played well. Sad to part ways, but glad to have had the time together!"

Great to have Suzie from New York band Homade taking the 2002 Fender Toronado out for a string of London dates in August. A bright orange offset body and Atomic humbuckers the perfect match or the band's quirky alt-punk look and sound.

"First time hiring gear and Iain couldn’t have been more accommodating. Will be using his service again and recommending to all those I know. Long live the King of Tone!"

Sceptics, fall by the wayside - the Analog.man King Of Tone is worth every ounce of the hype. So says hirer Lawrence who spent a long weekend forensically discovering everything the KoT had to offer. Tried it, loved it, so good, he's going to get his own now!

"loved this guitar has an amazing sound Iain is a treasure to the guitar community will definitely rent off him again"

It's not just the shoegazers, but it's more often than not the shoegazers that give their undying love to the 1976 Guild S-100 ;-). Big thanks to Sean from Dublin-based Dream Boy, making their debut at London's Sebright Arms at the start of September. Ones to watch!

"Played beautifully, very smooth action."

A pleasure to welcome back to London the boys from Dublin-based Dominda, this time for a headline appearance at Breaking Sound's showcase at The Macbeth in Hoxton on 30 August. The band hired three guitars this time - the 62 Reissue Jaguar for Luke, the Yamaha LA-8 for Ru, and the most eye-catching of all, the 1975 Gibson Marauder for Barry. And he loved it!

"What a lovely guitar, and easy interaction with Iain. Just what I needed for a few days of demos in London."

Great to have Denver singer/songwriter Ben Tonak hiring the 2006 Gibson Hummingbird during his stay in London - and sharing some of the magical demos he made with it. Loved it so much, he's going to buy a Hummingbird himself once back in the States!

"Thanks for the hire. The guitar was beautiful to play and Iain was so helpful informative and patient over the phone when i first enquired. This was the reason I chose to go with him in the first place. The whole experience lived up to the promise of that first interaction. Highly recommended!"

Just great to meet Adelaide-based singer/songwriter Tom, and hear all about his unique touring model. He takes The Songs Of Tom Smith to different cities around the world, finds local musicians to form a band for a gig, rehearses and performs. Really bold, really inspiring! A great honour to have the failsafe Yamaha LA-8 in his hands.

"Very helpful and easy communication"

That'll do 😊. Many thanks to Kofi for giving the Black Beauty some celebrity time on his photo-shoot. It loves the limelight!

"Lovely instrument, typical excellent service. Cheers Iain"

Regular hirer Ollie from London band Colour Telly must now have hired 5 of the vintage basses in the collection - always for a particular sound. This latest hire was probably the most unique of them all, at least in terms of tone - the 1964 Hofner President, with its amazing woody acoustics. Listen out for it on the latest from Colour Telly!

"Coming from the US to play at my daughter's wedding in Henley-On-Thames, I was so fortunate to find Iain and God's Own Guitars. Working with him to hire the Yamaha FG-411 12-string added to my joy of the whole event. The guitar was set up perfectly and stayed in tune and eminently playable even in capo keys. I received lots of compliments on the songs I played at Amanda's wedding. And I learned how to navigate London's underground train system for the pickup and return. Thank you, Iain."

Just wonderful to have Frank hiring the Yamaha 12-string for his daughter's wedding. Not the first guitar hired for a wedding, but definitely the first time a 12-string's been hired. Hats off to Frank for making it a very special day! As a sidenote, I'd like to say that lessons in navigating the London underground are all part of the service, but I think Frank deserves 100% of the credit for that too ;-).
