Hirer Feedback

Don't take my word for it.  This is what matters most!

"Professional and organised - would recommend."

That's all that matters! Thanks to Al for hiring the classic Cry Baby Wah for some overdubs on his latest work. One day, job done.

"Iain is very professional and extremely organised, prompt with his replies and accommodating my requests - I would definitely rent equipment from him again and strongly recommend others to as well."

It's not always about guitars. Many thanks to classical violinist Reg for hiring the brilliantly designed AER Compact 60 acoustic amp for a private reception at Knightsbridge's Mandarin Oriental. Such a great amp, it did as perfect a job with a violin and backing track as it does with a guitar and vocals. Sounds great!

"Hired the Astro Tone and loved it. Great pedal, great service and very reasonably priced."

Thanks to regular hirer Ollie, breaking his own tradition by hiring not a guitar, but Analog Man's recreation of classic 60s fuzz in a box, the Astro Tone. Ollie's a pioneering sonic explorer - and used the Astro Tone for a vocal track . . . Looking forward to hearing that!

"This guitar is in great condition and plays well. It was perfect for a series of small folk gigs across England. Also, Iain was incredibly helpful, friendly, and easy to coordinate with throughout the hire. I'm so grateful we chose to hire with him. Thanks, Iain!"

Big thanks to Texan folk musician Alex Dupree for hiring the ever-dependable Yamaha LA-8 for the UK leg of his European tour in November 2023. Both he and Eamon Fogarty, in support, played the LA-8 across three nights in locations as diverse as London, Sheffield and Hereford. Small gigs, loads of joy!

"What an experience! Incredible guitar, exactly as advertised. Iain is a complete legend, great communication, brought the guitar to me, had a load of really useful knowledge and we had a great chat! I can’t wait to hire again!"

Patrick's partner was away for the weekend, which turned out to be the perfect opportunity for a lost weekend of his own: a Les Paul Classic Goldtop, a vintage Boss Flanger, and the daddy-of-them-all phasers, a script MXR 90. From The Beatles to Black Sabbath - and everything either side - honestly, can there be a better weekend?

"We were in a bind, thankfully Iain and the Guitar Gods came to the rescue. Our family was in London for a holiday week, but my son needed to practice daily to prepare for his college guitar final. It didn’t make sense for him to bring his guitar from Boston and was thrilled the Guitar Gods came through with a beautiful white Fender in perfect condition. Drop off and pickup was a breeze. Iain a delight to deal with. We recommend Gods Own Guitars without reservation. "

A gang called the Guitar Gods, now that would be something to be a part of - though I don't think I'd pass the test! Lisa's son, however, has a far better chance. He chose the Arctic White Strat to keep up a pretty intense practice regime while over in London. Now it's just a question of a pass, with distinction - and the honour of joining the Guitar Gods!

"Iain was a great! He helped us to have a wonderful afternoon playing Peruvian music! I am so grateful of him. His guitar was absolutely perfect!"

"With this Little Martin you're really spoiling us". Back in the 90s Ferrero Rocher went big on selling the sophistication of their chocolates, by advertising them as the showstopper at the ambassador's reception. Now it's the turn of the Little Martin ;-). Big thanks to Dael for making the Little Martin the centrepiece at a musical afternoon hosted by the Peruvian embassy. Excelente!

"Beautiful guitar, perfect for recording! And excellent service as always from Iain!"

Big thanks to Joe for coming back to hire the 1969 Gibson Barney Kessel for a studio session. He'd hired the guitar for a live performance in May and wanted to recreate the piece in the studio. Perfect for the mellow tones he was after.

"Easy rental, great guitar!"

In a nutshell ;-). Many thanks to Chris, from Montreal shoegaze duo Bodywash, for the perfectly penned review. And more importantly for the hire of the very special 1976 Guild S-100. Very special for many reasons, but mainly because it's the guitar that I played relentlessly throughout the 80s. Great to have it back on stage . . . Check out the before and after in the link!

"Overall a great experience using a timeless instrument. Iain really takes care of his guitars and it shows in the pristine condition we received it in."

On the brink of great things, new artist April27 flew in from LA and hired the classic Arctic White Stratocaster to write and record new material while in London. It really is a timeless instrument - and hoping it makes it onto the final cut!

"Iain was super helpful and provided not just the guitar but a goodie bag of useful accessories too. The guitar played like a dream. Would definitely recommend God's Own Guitars."

Big thanks to Paul, founder and creative director at The Futz Butler. He wanted a very specific guitar to recreate a very specific song from 1980. You can take your guesses on who the guitarist, band or song was - working backwards from the guitar Paul chose, a 1985 Rickenbacker 330 in Jet-glo ;-). There'll be something out in 2024 that will reveal all!

"Superb, friendly service and a truly incredible guitar. Looking forward to renting from Iain again."

It's that vintage D-28 again, this time bringing some extra magic to singer/songwriter Michael Fitzgibbon's Christmas single. Guaranteed to be released before December 25th - listen out for it!

"Brilliant service, everything as described and handover smooth as can be :)"

That's all it needs to be :-). Thanks to Louis for hiring a couple of classics for recording a track for his upcoming EP - the early 70s Epiphone EA-250 and 1993 SansAmp GT2 amp emulator. Not sure how they're going to sound together, so looking forward to hearing the final release!

"Great amp and it was perfect for my EP release launch party! It was a pleasure leasing with Iain. no doubt will use his services again!"

Glaswegian singer/songwriter Alex Amor launched her latest EP, Super Sonic, at Peckham's Skylight in November 2023. An intimate event, just her, her guitarist, and an AER Compact 60 acoustic amp hired for the night - perfect match for the set.

"Iain was great at arranging a time and place to meet to get the guitar and was super friendly! Lovely guitar to use as well!"

The second time in a week the Little Martin was out for a West End audition. Big thanks to Chris for putting his trust in the guitar - and fingers crossed he gets the part!
